In an air conditioning system, the suction line is the pipe that carries the refrigerant gas from the evaporator back to the compressor, where it is at a low pressure and low temperature. The liquid line, on the other hand, transports the high-pressure, high-temperature liquid refrigerant from the condenser to the expansion valve or the evaporator, where it cools and vaporizes to absorb heat.
