Hex and Hex-Plus refer to types of fastener drive systems. The traditional hex drive has a hexagonal recess that fits standard hex keys or Allen wrenches. Hex-Plus, on the other hand, is designed to reduce the notching effect that can round out the fastener head, providing a larger contact area and thus minimizing wear and damage to both the tool and the fastener.
