Car alarms can be set off by various triggers such as vibrations or impacts detected by shock sensors, changes in voltage or movement sensed by tilt sensors, and unauthorized entry attempts signaled by door or window sensors. They are designed to respond to these disturbances to deter theft or vandalism. Environmental factors like loud noises or heavy vehicles passing by can sometimes also inadvertently trigger the alarm.
