To install a Stabilus lift support, first safely prop open or secure the item you are working on, such as a car hood or trunk. Remove the old lift support by detaching the retaining clips with a flathead screwdriver and then pulling it off the mounting studs. Align the new Stabilus lift support with the mounting studs and press it into place until the clips snap securely.
